- 1915 - Meeting.
- 1916 - First Patron.
- 1917 - R. G. Bhadnarkar Eighty first birthday.
- 1918 - Manuscripts collection of the Govt. of Bombay transfer to Institute.
- 1919 - Inauguration of the Critical Edition of the Mahabharata.
- 1922 - Completion of the Khetsi-Khiasi Manuscripts Hall & Mahabharata Hall.
- 1923 - V. G. Paranjapae elected Hon. Secretary.
- 1924 - Govt. Oriental Series inaugurated.
- 1925 - V. S. Sukthankar appointed General Editor of the Mahabharata.
- 24, Aug. 1925 - Rishipanchami R. G. Bhandarkar Passed away.
- 18, Oct. 1925 - BORI press started with composing room.
- 1927 - First Fascicule Critical Edition published.
- 1932 - Completion of the Institute Guesthouse.
- 1935 - Pub. of the Descriptive Catalouge of Manuscripts was started.
- 1939 - The Bhandarkar Oriental Series inaugurated.
- 1940 - British Academy sanctioned a token grant for the Mahabharata.
- 1941 - Gift of the Chinese Tripitka from the Chinese Govt.
- 1942 - Inauguration of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations.
- 1943 - In Jan. 4-5 Silver jubilee Celebrations, Chief Guest : Dr. S. Radhakrishnan.
- 21, Jan. 1943 - Death of Sukthankar. April - S. K. Belvalkar Editor of the BH.
- 31, Dec. 1943 - The Institute registered as the Central office of the All India Oriental Conference.

- 1968 - Dr. Zakir Husain (President of India), Preside over the Golden Jubilee Function.
- 1978 - Diamond Jubilee Celebrations.
